Institutional Initiatives
The Health Research Services Office (HRS) has prime responsibility for institutional applications and awards in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The university applies for these awards and the money is awarded to McMaster rather than a specific researcher. While individual researchers are able to take advantage of these funds, they are tied to the institution, rather than the individual researchers. These funds support the University in realizing its Strategic Research Plan (SRP) for faculty renewal, for rebuilding the research infrastructure (state-of-the-art research equipment and modernization and construction of new research space) and for capacity building (creation of critical mass in targeted research areas).
